Mature can use coffee as an eye opener in the morning, but these fun and flying coffee cans are even better reasons for you to drink! Here’s how to create a few plastic insects that you can keep or catch.

What you need
Coffee can cover
Construction paper
Pencil
Scissors
Glue
Map markers
Caterpillar Stalks (optional)

Step 1: Remove the plastic freshness lid from an empty coffee can. Decide what kind of mistake you want to make and choose colors of construction paper that correspond to this error – if you were making a ladybug, you would use red Paper. Use the lid to draw a circle on a piece of construction paper. Cut out the circle inside the line so that it is slightly smaller than the lid. Glue the Paper to the top of the plastic lid.

Step 2: Decorate your beetle, maybe add a black head and black spots for a ladybug, green wings and big eyes for a fly or purple and pink for a beetle of your imagination! If desired, add Caterpillar stems for the antennae.

Step 3: Now it’s time to throw your colorful insect in the air and see it fly. For more fun, set bowls or boxes as targets and give them points. Take a contest with a friend to see who can win the most points.
